Seasiders dominant in 9-0 win over Chaminade

LAIE, Hawaii (Aug. 31, 2013) – The BYU-Hawaii men's soccer team's offense was on display early and often with a 9-0 victory over Chaminade on Saturday as seven different Seasiders scored.

 Rich Harrison and Chris Toronto each scored a pair of goals and Michael Moreno, Lance Foust, Pawel Dregan and Logan Anderson all picked up scores.

BYU-Hawaii got it started with a goal from Moreno in the first minute. After a kick off the cross bar, Moreno put it in to set the tone for the match.

Moreno offered an assist to Harrison for the second goal and minutes later Harrison took the ball at midfield and went all the way with his second score of the game to put BYU-Hawaii up 3-0 after just 12 minutes of play.

Ten minutes later, Lorenzo Lopez helped out Toronto with an assist as Toronto made it 4-0. After a foul, Foust took a penalty kick for the Seasiders and put it in the back corner of the net to make it 5-0 with six minutes to go until the half.

The first half scoring barrage wasn't over as Dregan and Anderson both added scores before the break to put the score at 7-0.

In the second half, Jake Sorenson picked up a goal and Toronto knocked in his second with just over 11 minutes remaining for the 9-0 final.

The men's team hosts Cal-State San Bernardino on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 12:30 p.m.
