KAHUKU, Hawaii – All five golfers for No. 12/14 BYU-Hawaii men's golf finished in the top 10 to win the 2017 Hawaii Challenge Saturday at the Turtle Bay Resort Fazio Course.
The Seasiders finished the 36-hole tournament with a 19-under 557, while Hawaii-Hilo came in second at even par. Hawaii Pacific was third at 3 over followed by Chaminade's 28 over par.
Nicolas Herrera won the individual championship after posting a 2-under 70 Saturday to bring his final score to 12 under par. Jacob Godfrey held on to second place despite a 3-over 75 in the final round, finishing at 7 under for the tournament.
Federico Clausen also posted a 70 in the final round to finish at even par for the tournament and place eighth. Dalton Stanger was ninth at 2 over par after shooting even par over the final 18 holes. Alex Stulce rounded out the field at 3 over par to tie for 10th.
The Seasiders will take the course next April 24 for the PacWest Men's Golf Championships at Turtle Bay Resort. Live scoring will be available.
