CORONA, Calif. – No. 16 BYU-Hawaii men's golf finished in first Monday after posting the only two rounds under par on the first day of the CBU Men's Invitational at the Eagle Glen Golf Club.
The Seasiders finished at the top of the leaderboards finishing four under and 16 strokes ahead of second place Holy Names, who finished 12 over. No. 32 Western Washington placed fourth at 14 over, edging out host No. 15 Cal Baptist by two strokes.
Nicolas Herrera led all players hitting seven under par, including an eagle on the twelfth hole followed by two birdies in the first round. Dalton Stanger followed tying for fifth shooting an even par over 36 holes.
BYU-Hawaii will look to hold on to its lead in the final round Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. PDT. Live stats will be available online.
