LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – No. 24 Brent Grant took home the individual title to lead No. 14 BYU-Hawaii men's golf to a second place finish Wednesday at the PacWest Championships at the Wigwam Golf Course.
Dixie State took home the team victory at 4 over for the tournament. Dominican was one stroke behind the Seasiders at 20 over par to round out the top three.
Grant continued his torrid pace to the tournament with a third consecutive round under par. Grant carded a 1 under on the day and finished 7 under par for the tournament. Grant was six strokes ahead of second place finisher Tyler Macias of Dominican and Compton Pikari of Dixie State.
Nicolas Herrera had his best day of the tournament with a 1-under 71. Herrera ended strong after a double bogey on the 11th hole moved him 1 over on the day. He rebounded with a birdy on 14 to move back to even par and added a birdy on the 17th green. Herrera finished tied for 10th place in the tournament.
Inoka Kahawaii added a 5 over on the day for the Seasiders to tie for 30th. Federico Clausen recorded an 8-over 80 and Dalton Stanger was 9 over par to each tie for 18th on the individual leaderboard.
BYU-Hawaii will wait to see if its season will continue to the 2016 NCAA Division II Men's Golf West Regional during the selection show Friday at 6 p.m. EDT.
