ST. GEORGE, Utah – Zane Loveland helped BYU-Hawaii men's golf hold steady at fourth place after the second day of the PacWest Conference Championships on Tuesday at Sunbrook Golf Course.
The Seasiders finished with an 11-over-par 299 to keep two strokes behind Cal Baptist for third. BYU-Hawaii also extended its lead to nine strokes over fifth place No. 46 Hawaii Hilo. Dominican battled to take the team lead from No. 16 Dixie State with a 1-over 289 on the day.
Loveland shot 1 under in his second set of 18 holes to move up four spots and tie for third individually. He is 1 under par for the tournament and two strokes behind individual leader Mark Milton of Dominican.
Nicolas Herrera shot a 2-over 74 in the second round to move up into a tie for 15th individually for the Seasiders. Inoka Kahawaii rebounded from a rough start yesterday with a 4 over on day two to move up into a tie for 25th.
Matthew Jensen shot his second consecutive 6-over 78 falling just two spots into 27th place on the overall leader board. Alex Stulce rounded out the field for BYU-Hawaii with a 12 over par on the day.
