GOODYEAR, AZ – BYU-Hawaii men's golf finished 12th on Tuesday at the Western New Mexico Invitational at Palm Valley Golf Club.
The Seasiders finished with a 35-over-par 899 in the field of 16 clubs. Host Western New Mexico had the lowest team score at 3-under-par followed by Dixie State University at 5 over.
Alex Stulce and Matthew Jensen finished the three rounds invitational at 8 over to tie for 38th individually. Stulce began the first round leading the team with a 1-over-par, Jensen's best round was the second when he hit 1-over-par. Stulce finished with one eagle and Jensen was able to get 35 pars. They were both 15 strokes short of individual leader Harry Wetton of Western New Mexico.
Nicolas Herrera bounced back from a challenging first round by hitting one-under-par in the second round to finish tied for 46th overall. Zane Loveland finished the third round with 13-over-par good for a 61st place tie and Inoka Kahawaii ended the day 14-over-par for a 65th place finish.
BYU-Hawaii will return to the course on April 20 for the PacWest Championships in St. George, Utah.
