CORONA, Calif. – Alex Stulce continued his strong play to lead BYU-Hawaii men's golf to a ninth place finish on Tuesday at the CBU Invitational at Eagle Glen Golf Club.
The Seasiders finished with a 43-over-par 907 in the field of 15 clubs. Simon Fraser had the lowest team score at 6 over par followed by Sonoma State at 14 over.
Stulce finished the three round invitational at 1 under par to tie for third on the individual leader board. He trailed individual leader Kenny You of Dixie State by two strokes and John Mlikotic of Simon Fraser by one stroke. Stulce finished with 12 birdies and was 6 under par on Par-5 holes.
Matthew Jensen finished the day with a 3-over 75 to move up to 28th in the individual standing at 10 over for the invitational. Nicolas Herrera bounced back from a difficult second round with a 4-over 76 to finish tied for 54th and Inoka Kahawaii finished in 61st with a 20 over after three rounds.
Federico Clausen rounded out the field of five for BYU-Hawaii with a 26-over 242 to tie for 73rd.
BYU-Hawaii will return to the course on April 20 for the PacWest Championships in St. George, Utah.
