TURTLE BAY, Hawaii – Federico Clausen and Inoka Kahawaii both improved on day two despite a strong wind to lead BYU-Hawaii men's golf to a 35 stroke victory on the Palmer Course at Turtle Bay Resort on Thursday.
The Seasiders finished with a 22-over-par 310 on day two, while the Sharks ended 40 over and the Silverswords were at 42 over.
Clausen and Kahawaii each shot a 2-over-par 74 to tie for the top spot individually at 5 over par during the 36-hole tournament. Matthew Jensen finished at 12 over to tie for fifth among participants, while Alex Stulce's 15-over-par 159 was good for seventh out of the 15 qualifying golfers.
BYU-Hawaii will compete next at the John Burns Tournament on Kauai, Hawaii, from Feb. 17-20.
