AIEA, Hawaii – Nicolas Herrera led BYU-Hawaii men's golf to a first place tie after the second day of the HPU Tri-Match was rained out.
BYU-Hawaii and Chaminade ended tied with a 15-over 591 in the 36 holes played on Tuesday. Wednesday's 18 holes at the Pearl Country Club were cancelled after heavy rain.
Herrera shot a 4-under-par 140 on day one with equal scores of 2-under 70 during the first two rounds. Inoka Kahawaii was even par after shooting 2 under during the second round of 18 at the Olomana Golf Course.
Riley Bunker finished with a 10-over 154, while Zane Loveland finished at 12 over in his first tournament action this season. Federico Clausen shot 14 over to round out the five man team for the Seasiders.
BYU-Hawaii will head to the big island for the Dennis Rose Tournament in Kona, Hawaii, next week beginning on Oct. 30.
