WAIKOLOA VILLAGE, Hawaii (Oct. 28, 2013) - After two rounds of golf the BYU-Hawaii men's golf team is in eighth place at the Dennis Rose Invitational on Monday.
The Seasiders will continue with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The team played a better first round than the second, scoring a combined 301 in the first 18 holes to a 319 in the second to total 620 for the day. Hawaii-Hilo is in first with opening rounds of 280 and 283 for a combined 563.
Federico Clausen shot a 72 in the first round for par with a second round of 80.
Zach Janiec recorded a first round of 73 and a second of 79 to tie Clausen with a combined score of 152, good for 30th overall.
Mike Klem shot a 78 in both rounds for 39th while Peder McOmber posted an 82 in each round to sit in a tie for the 52nd position. Sean Crapo shot 79 in the first round but slipped with an 87 in round two to finish day one in 54th place overall.
BYU-Hawaii resumes action tomorrow with the final 18 holes.
