Turtle Bay, HI—The Brigham Young University-Hawaii men's golf team open the season with a third-place finish today in a tri-match at the Turtle Bay Palmer Course. The Seasiders shot a team score of 324 on the par 72 layout to trail second-place Chaminade by six strokes and first-place Hawaii Pacific by 18 strokes.
Newcomer Dillon Dudley recorded the Seasiders' best score of the day with a six-over 78. Trevor Gosar finished with an 80 while Mike Klem came in at 82 and Scott Pickering at 83 for the Seasiders.
Hawaii Pacific's Ian Boat turned in the best individual score with a one-under-par 71 as the Sea Warriors finished with a 306 team score and Chaminade came in at 318.
BYU–Hawaii will be back in action on Wednesday at another tri-match hosted by Hawaii Pacific at the Koolau Golf Course in Kaneohe.
