Wagstaff Tames Tough Course as Seasiders Finish Second

Kaneohe, HI—Freshman Jake Wagstaff shot a one-uner-par 71 on a course considered by many to be the toughest in the nation today to take medalist honors as the Brigham Young University-Hawaii men's golf team finished second in a tri-match at the Ko'olau Golf Course.  Wagstaff was the only player to break par on any of the three teams and helped the Seasiders shoot a team score of 309 to trail Hawaii Pacific by five strokes.

Scott Pickering and Trevor Gosar both carded 78 for the Seasiders and Colten Lamb shot an 82 to round out the team scoring for BYU-Hawaii.  Jacob Fota also competed for the Seasiders and shot a 96.

Hawaii Pacific finished with a team total of 304 and Chaminade ended up at 325.

BYU–Hawaii will be back in action on Monday at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate hosted by UH-Hilo in Waikoloa on the Big Island at 8:00 am
