LAIE, Hawaii – BYU-Hawaii men's basketball announced its 2015-16 schedule on Wednesday.
The Seasiders begin the season on the road with an exhibition against Division I opponent Long Beach State on Nov. 14. BYU-Hawaii then opens the regular season at Western Washington on Nov. 18 before a rematch of their final game in the 2014-15 season against Seattle Pacific on Nov. 20 in the GNAC-PacWest Crossover Challenge. BYU-Hawaii wraps up the challenge with a game against Central Washington in Seattle, Washington, before returning to the islands.
The Seasiders kick-off their home schedule with its first ever meeting against Cal State San Marcos. The Cougars begin their transition to NCAA Division II after advancing to the quarterfinals of the NAIA tournament with a 30-4 record last season. BYU-Hawaii then concludes its out-of-conference schedule with a home matchup against Chapman on Nov. 28.
The conference season begins with four straight games against rival Hawaii schools beginning with back-to-back games against Hilo on Dec. 5 and 12. BYU-Hawaii will also have two contests against California Baptist and Azusa Pacific who both qualified for regionals last season.
The Seasiders will also host Dixie State on Jan. 26 and see its first matchup with PacWest newcomer Concordia University Irvine on Feb. 1 in Irvine, California.
