LAIE, Hawaii (June 4, 2014) – Men's head basketball coach Ken Wagner announced the 2014-15 basketball schedule Thursday featuring a strong home slate with trips to California and Alaska.
The Seasiders' 26 game schedule starts off with four home games in a week, including the PacWest/GNAC challenge.
Opening night on Nov. 21 features a matchup against Central Washington before a showdown in Laie with GNAC regular season and tournament champions Seattle Pacific the next day. Seattle Pacific finished with a No. 11 national ranking in last year's regular season.
The non-conference schedule continues with hot-shooting Oakland City on Nov. 24. The Mighty Oaks finished No. 13 among Division II schools with 86.7 points per game.
The first stretch of non-conference games wrap up with Washburn University on Nov. 28.
After two conference games against Hawaii schools, the Seasiders will hit the road and travel to Alaska for games against Alaska-Fairbanks and Alaska-Anchorage.
It's PacWest play the rest of the way highlighted by home games against Dixie State in Laie on Jan. 8 and Cal Baptist on Jan 31. BYU-Hawaii will make two more trips to the mainland amidst the conference schedule.
In 2013-14, the Seasiders finished 15-12 overall, 13-7 in conference play and made an appearance at the PacWest Conference Tournament.
The upcoming season's PacWest tournament will be played March 5-7.
