PHOENIX, (Nov. 7, 2013) – Senior center DeAndre Medlock has been selected to the 2013-14 Preseason All-Pacific West Conference men's basketball team.
The Seasiders were also picked to finish third in the conference. Voting for the order of finish and all-conference teams was completed by coaches from each respective school.
Medlock finished the 2012-13 season with the nation's fifth best field goal percentage at 64.1 percent. He averaged 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and had 21 total blocks last season.
BYU-Hawaii earned 135 points in the poll, just one behind second-picked Fresno State (136). Both teams earned one first place vote. Dixie State was picked to repeat for the conference championship with nine first place votes and 165 total points.
Last season the Seasiders finished 16-12 and 12-6 in league play.
The team was second in the PacWest in scoring with 81.4 points per game and led the conference in assists per game with 18.6. The Seasiders were third in field goal percentage (.476) and 3-point field goal percentage (.380).
Medlock was one of seven players named to the PacWest Preseason All-Conference Team. Six different PacWest schools landed players on the preseason squad. Dixie State's Zach Robbins has been named the Preseason Player of the Year.
