Tryout instructions

Thank you for inquiring about our cheer dance program. We are a combined team of two squads and perform cheer dance together. Cheer squad focus on stunting and tumbling, while the dance squad perform high level dance technique (turns, leaps, kicks). In tandem both squads perform cheers together and halftime shows at basketball games.

The three-day tryout period is as follows:

  • Thursday, Sept. 10: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 11: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 12: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

You must attend all three days.

We ask you chose either cheer or dance squad. Those wishing to joing cheer squad will need to bring a 30 second routine of your own. Scoring will be based on stunting, cheer and crowd excitement, jumps, and personality. We will teach you the rest of tryout material at our workshop the week of tryouts. 

Dancers will learn a one minute dance and a cheer. They will also need to prepare a 30 second dance in their own style. Scoring will be based on dance, personality, turns, leaps, kicks, cheer and crowd excitement.

There are also spots for a few good men to do power stunting, strength and flexibility.
