Three Seasiders earn weekly honors

IRVINE, Calif. – Jessica Horrocks and Max Moncur were named PacWest Cross Country Co-Runners of the Week for races Sept. 19-25. Jackson Oliver was awarded Freshman of the Week.

Horrocks received her second individual title as she finished first at the Hawai'i Pacific Invitational on Saturday. She finished the 5k course with a time of 19:45, winning by less than three seconds. Horrocks has finished in the top 10 in all four races this season.

Moncur and Oliver led BYU-Hawaii to a first-place finish at the Hawai'i Pacific Invitational, the team's first victory since 2014. Moncur won his fourth-consecutive meet of the season, finishing the 8k course in a season-best time of 27:11. He beat the field by nearly a minute. Oliver finished in third place in 28:05, missing out on second place by just two seconds and taking 20 seconds off his first 8k race at Hilo two weeks prior. BYU-Hawaii had all five of its scoring runners place in the top-10.
