IRVINE, Calif. – Freshman Braden Bailey was named as the Pacific West Conference Co-Player of the Week for men's soccer Monday for games played Sept. 19-25.
Bailey fueled BYU-Hawaii's 2-1 road trip to start conference play, scoring five goals on six shots. He netted his first-career goal in a 5-0 win over Academy of Art. He then scored four goals in a 6-1 win over defending PacWest champion Fresno Pacific. He netted a hat trick in a 13-minute span in the first half against the Sunbirds.
His four total goals tied the BYU-Hawaii record for goals in a single game, which was set in 1996 by Steve Lewis in a game against Cal Tech. Bailey now ranks fourth in the PacWest in goals (5).
