LAIE, Hawaii – Athletic director Brad Jones announced Tuesday the return of Wendy Anae as BYU-Hawaii's assistant athletic director and compliance officer.
"Wendy brings a lot of experience to our program," Jones said. "We look forward to having her on our staff."
Anae was previously was the inaugural coach of the Seasider women's basketball team, coaching from 2006-2010. She led BYU-Hawaii to a winning record in the programs first season at 13-12 and added a 16-11 season in 2008-09, the best in the programs history.
"I'm excited to be back at BYU-Hawaii," Anae said. "I have enjoyed working on the administrative side of athletics and look forward to working with all the coaches and athletes of SiderNation."
She left BYU-Hawaii to become the director of basketball operations at BYU and pursue a master's degree. After completing her Masters of Public Administration in 2013, Anae became an assistant coach for University of Hawaii women's basketball and transitioned into the director of basketball operations for the 2014-15 season.
Born and raised in Laie, Anae earned a history degree from Cal State Fullerton in 1990 and spent six years coaching and teaching at Kahuku High School.
